This is an interesting article, but I am really, really tired of the conflation of "digital" with "Internet connected" and "analog" with "old fashioned." There is interesting, cutting-edge work in analog design today, even in the audio domain[1], and much of the promise and peril of digital technology has absolutely nothing to do with the Internet.

Connectivity rejection and acceptance are what sit in my head.
I know people who reject connection yet are extremely technically capable. They just do not desire the negative sides of the connectivity.
