Because four times now you've said "I know more than you" and have provided nothing of substance to back your claims. I know this is HN and "what you say" means more than "what you do", but hipster bravado will only get you so far.
The OP's point is that "This only works if you pay the appropriate amount".
If you go with that process, but discard the "money" variable, you'll only interview the people who got rejected from every one of the well-paying companies.
The only way for them to get developers on their platform is to wait for the next generation of developers. Literally nobody will base anything on their stuff now, and this has been the case for a good few years.
Either "Games aren't real software", "If it's not in the US, we mostly don't care" or "Real Unicorns take VC and get acquired by Facebook, Microsoft acquisitions don't count".
That's a bit suspicious, really. A feature like "Reactions to a comment" doesn't take two years to implement, even with all the scaling considerations. And people have been complaining about that for at least two years.
