I figured this out a while ago and I do it as a challenge - how can I incorrectly pass the test - probably there are more of us doing this than you estimate? We could be in the majority (unlikely I know)
I've just signed a contract to write a book and I get an advance and then 10% (goes up to 12/15% if more are sold).
One major reason is that I am more likely to finish it and get it done than if I rely on it myself.
Another reason is that I want to be known for one niche, this will help and if that works out then I could likely self-publish and keep more of the profit.
It is slightly more nuanced than I want as much cash as possible for this thing.
This reminds me of a system I worked on, the devs all developed locally with all the services but in prod the services were on different hosts and the performance was terrible.

I don't know why people spend so much time optimizing the wrong thing - it happens over and over again!

win me was the breeding ground for things that made it into win 2003, things like sfc, msconfig etc - all the utilities went into me first and then to 2003.
My go to question used to be “what’s the best thing and then the worse thing about working here”, every time I used it I have got jobs I wasn’t good enough for but the feedback was that I was really motivated.
This stuff really does work, I don’t really need it now because i generally find roles through my network.
I agree with this, I can pinpoint the one question I didn’t answer correctly in one interview once. I was doing well and passed through everything until it came to hr asking about a 5 month break and why I left a company without another job. The hr lady prompted me with what to say “was it so you could do some travelling?” And I replied that I just needed a break and took some time off. She prompted that I must have done some studying, again I just said no and that was it.
My answer didn’t fit the social norms so I was canned.
I will never buy a dell again, had an XPS 9550 (£2.7k 32gb ram, top of the range) - they had a chip in to detect a valid dell power adapter and that went so they wanted over 600 to replace the motherboard.
I bought a macbook and use the dell charger (udb-c) to charge my macbook.
This says that Facebook have built a test facility and if they detect the virus then they do a full genome sequence. Facebook are doing genome sequencing, this seems less than ideal.
