Perhaps, but I believe that not being able to install one or two crucial apps (e.g. banking) would be a deal-breaker for a good portion of those people.
He may be interested in devices which can connect to a phone via bluetooth and to amps via standard audio cables. They basically turn any old amp/speakers setup into a wireless streaming one, and they work quite well.
The expressed negativity is not directed towards hardware development process, rather towards what ended up being insincere promises the team gave about the state of the product that would be shipping in Q3 2019.
This cannot be entirely correct as I use Chrome and Firefox with as close as possible configuration, with uBlock Origin with exact same settings, and the behaviour I've encountered is very similar to the one shown here. I'm logged in to my google account in both browsers as well.
I've discovered it as an adult as well and tried most of them at least for a little bit, and the only 'old' title I've enjoyed and finished was Windwaker. Characters and story were very endearing although I didn't like the sailing very much and particulary didn't like the grind at the end.
But Breath of the Wild was just great. The world was so pleasant and I enjoyed being in it regardless of what else I might have been doing. The puzzles and shrines were quite nice as well.
I fully agree with your sentiment but in this case the UI renders it almost unusable making it very hard to evaluate the content.
I've tried Firefox and Edge on Windows 10 and Chrome on Android, and from other comments in the thread it doesn't look like a case of "not working on every platform and screen size".
