I’m looking for a versatile position where I get to wear many hats. I would love to improve companies processes, good a new product or/and work on a mobile app or do full stack or even DevOps work. I’d also love to mentor new engineers/interns.
I’m also interested to tech lead or managing positions that do some IC work as needed.
And here I am planning on replacing Jenkins with GitLab CI.. do you really think Jenkins is better? Do you have any examples or thoughts you can share?
In Europe a lot of products have to include 2 years warranty by default, which makes Apple Care a lot less attractive. You're basically paying the same price for just one more year instead of two.
But I still receive spam mail in my (physical) mailbox. I imagine they're not doing that for free either.
I agree with you though, it would probably still (drastically) reduce the amount of spam we have to deal with and we might still get some very specific targeted spam
Paying them daily doesn’t allow them to buy more though. The salary overall (at the end of the month) doesn’t change. I guess you could buy more expensive stuff more spontaneously, which probably would make the problem worse.
Interesting. I don’t think it’s the payout frequency though that causes this problem, nor could solve it.
Couldn’t it be that people are just having a tendency to not save money, due to various reasons (low salary, not seeing the need to save money, buying irresponsibly, ...)
I wonder if the cause of financial stress is the credit/loan system.
I think there is a cultural difference, which - in the US - encourages people to get loans and buy things they cannot necessarily afford.
While elsewhere you’d save up and then buy the thing of desire.
*this is a little too general and doesn’t apply to everything (e.g. houses etc)
Wow... in Switzerland people get paid monthly and I think most of them are not in financial stress. But then having loans and credit cards aren’t as popular either...
is there a correlation between the salary payout frequency and financial stress?
I personally love the huge trackpads Apple builds. Especially the double tap right-click and all the swipe features. I think the dedicated button ones are super inconvenient, because you’d have to move your finger there instead of clicking/tapping anywhere
