Sounds good until you realise theres no way to transfer/back them up and you are limited to 100 [1] (previously 25?).
Personally my password manager has almost 4x the entries so hardware passkey solutions are a joke leaving users with single option - upload their keychains to ms/apple/etc clouds where they can be requested by any gov under the sun for x reasons.
Passkeys were invented so hacked sites could brush off their leaks with "no credentials were leaked" and minimise any regulatory fines. This is the reason why its being pushed by the big players.
Additionally this puts the same players in control of your logins - want to sync your passkeys? - enable "iCloud Keychain", or some other 'trust me bro' app that will 'securely store/sync your data' - no thank you.
In perfect world users should be able to generate a certificate, upload it to a couple nfc capable ubikey like devices that blow a fuse afterwards preventing from additional writes/reads and use that to login to every app ever. You would buy such devices in packs of 3, upload same cert to all, hide the other, burry the third.
What does one buy if they want a 1080p60 action cam with stabilisation that doesn't overheat, has good battery life and acceptable low light performance (think rainy day in the woods)?

How can you type such nonsense? Look at 2014 Crimean annexation - thats "how good they defended themselves" without western training and billions in weapon aid. After four years they have million plus dead but "this is fine" for the west.

Release the source. As a developer you should be able to write code that allows to stub out all the propriety parts. The community will replace your speedtrees, matchmaking, netcode, anticheats and so on.

In my gaming circles, people who work on SaaS solutions are against SKG even though they are avid gamers and even open source contributors. They just recoil on a thought of an EOL plan. Same on HN.

Id bet some money it has more to do with certification. Consoles ban 3rd party controllers that provide a competitive edge. Steam controller is exactly that.
They are enthusiast targeted brand and majority of enthusiast (heck even entry level cases) have windows in it.
Enthusiasts care about the details - airflow, cable management and of course aesthetics. Noctua doesn't. I respect their engineering/no bullshit approach, the price bump is worth it but they lost my money on multiple builds by sticking to their 'brand color'.
They're the Soylent of the fan world - everything you need but spark zero joy.

The other two are not good for anything gaming as any framerate inconsistency breaks the experience. A stable frame rate is much more important than a high one.
Do you know who offers more? I deliberately chose Yubikey as example as their limit was the highest. Others like Nitrokey etc. support even less.
