People are people sometimes and want to help. What's the sense in quitting before you try to fix anything?

I tried that with my 10 year old and it wasn’t very fun or instructive. It teaches them about loops and functions, but it’s a lot easier to just brute force the mazes and there’s no incentive not to.
I don't even know what I use. It probably changes in different repositories. I've never cared enough to check or set it one way or the other, and definitely don't care enough to have a 20 minute meeting with my team to decide.
Not completely related, but I also briefly consulted at Monasanto in an entire department that seemed composed of consultants hired to build something from scratch and ignore the normal bureaucracy.
It was fun because we were hired to do things that in house employees had failed to do for whatever reason, so when I built the little dashboard I was hired for, everyone was so amazed.
I just completed the job I was given, but to them I was a superstar.
Consulting can be fun like that.
Angkor Wat is not nearly as old as your Indian examples. It's similar age to Notre Dame cathedral. The main temple complex is the best preserved building in the area with some others that I think came later less well preserved. There are many many smaller temples very poorly preserved. As for a "city" of Angkor, it's now Siem Reap and there isn't much of the ancient city within the modern city.
Speaking as someone who’s parents when waited to get divorced until I went to college, I think I would have been less messed up if they’d been honest and mature enough to get divorced when they’d wanted to.

I liked the first one, but couldn't finish The Player of Games. The title was a little too accurate (at least for as far as I got) and imaginary boardgame play-by-plays are not so interesting for me.
