I can't assess if it's illegal, and it sounds like typical structuring for high-capital assets. But it also somewhat subvert the spirit of requiring financial filings for public companies in the first place. Investment markets are built on the principle that every investor should have the same public understanding on material matters to the business - and large expenditures or lease committments should really make the disclosure. If nothing else there is a self-dealing/self-enrichment of principals risk and watering down of investment if something underhanded is going on with these deals - as has happened in the past (e.g. WeWork, reportedly some cases in Amzon too)
If communities wait until there is incontrovertible proof of raised rates, everything will have been decided and their raised rates will be a fait accompli. This is the time and phase to raise concerns and get guarantees in place for communities
That's a really odd thing to point out, as even the earliest written records of the Odyssey are later interpretations of what was a story passed in oral tradition. And on top that, what most of us have read, have further passed through one ore more translations. Each of the transcriptions add interpretation, especially ones that move from ancient languages to modern.
Maybe it's the modern era with brands and so many off-the-shelf prepackaged products that there is an invisibly applied assumption that there is only one true form of a product or piece of literature. That's coming from a consumerist, marketed, branded culture. Looking with a longer perspective, most archetypal stories and myths are interesting precisely with interpretation of their time making them relevant and connectable again in the time of their retelling.
short, dumb one or two plug extension cords are great for travel. They're light on the wall side, so the travel adapter on that side generally stays in. Plus it's nice if you need a little extra reach occasionally
My theory is that there is a latent hysteresis effect of past SMS and data pricing on mobile accounts that matches up with places that adopted WhatsApp and ones that didn't.
but here again, shifting from fossil fuels usage lifecycle - which is literally extract to refine and burn is a much more polluting lifecycle than a 20 year extract, use, recycle lifecycle for lithium or solar or any renewable approach. And its an improvement in both intensity and sheer tonnage of material extracted.
Still, the overall benefit might be seen as positive for lithium from shifting widespread air pollution from combustion engines to more localized pollution. Though obviously the world needs to work on better processes for the local pollutants.
Yup, good call, I'll have to check those out. Not that urgent to me as I also happen to use colima for it's docker daemon interface. And, colima uses a full VM to host the containers, and you can further lock down the config to what is even allowed to vol mount so there's even another fs access restriction layer in play.
Cutting the default hw setup to one controller was definitely MBA coded shortsightedness imo. It was de-incentivizing for living room multi-player modes in games, which in turn reduced a unique console advantage vs PC, all for a small savings in hardware.
That modern consoles find themselves oddly displaced is true to me also, but what is also true is that I have an Apple TV and a cable-co provided android tv box attached to my TV. Neither particularly emphasizes the gaming experience, but it seems like there is an unexplored technical space somewhere between an ARM box and a full PC that every console company but Nintendo seems afraid of.
I think they need to give up on the "best Graphics" feature point and focus on some other set of values. It's one they've lost every generation to PC GPUs, and ARM connected GPU's are perfectly capable of providing a good gaming experience. Most Steam games really don't require anything close to a bleeding edge GPU.
If consoles are lost, at least lost from Sony and XBox, it's because they decided not to compete in the space - there are still plenty of opportunities to explore.
Any restrictive administrative loop is always hopelessly behind on what degrees are "valuable". I think colleges should be required to provide information on salary and employment info for a graduates given degree from the university, but otherwise let the choice be open. All the proscription of "value" is useless cost increasing administrative theater
Student university edication shouldn't even be a loan. The vast majority of student loans are financed by the government itself. The US spends trillions procuring defense (or war), it should also procure an educated workforce without saddling the citizenry with all the extra red tape and misery of collecting back a loan
I would suspect that one would buy based on mem-bus & PCIe bus speeds more than CPU for this, and just dial down the CPU parameters to save power. Most of the time and power will be consumed by memory and bus transfers because the CPU will mostly be waiting to the right set of weights and factors to multiply.
The biggest annoyance with personal finance for me is bill paying and has little that ai can address. Either you let a bunch of third party systems automatically bill your account or you have to login to each billing account, find the amount, look up the pay date etc... And thats just one core problem - the other automation issue is actually logging into every billing account. And not thanks to a centralized thired party holding every password to every financial account I have.
At least some institutions are getting alternative pay only access profiles but its a slim minority and they close but not quite what is needed for secure consumer side automated bill paying
