Just use Windows then! What's the big deal? You don't want to invest time when something does not work like expected, so don't do it.
Please mind that a lot of things with Linux are developed, packaged and run by volunteers in their spare time. They invest their time and see value in it, you don't.
Why do you whine about that in such way? You make it sound you somehow regret your decision, do you?
I am not sure if hardware or software can fix the issue. I doubt it. You found and will continue finding ways to loose focus and procrastinate. So did I (and of course still do sometimes).
For me another approach worked to some degree. Pomodoro and Time blocking.
But I read also a lot of I. And you did everything by yourself, didn't you? 12 hours on 7 days you did all tasks by yourself. It doesn't sound you looked for people to help you, to share your knowledge and experience.
To be honest I think that work was taken away from you because you haven't been a team player!
What's the big issue here? Can't people remain in silence for a few hours without their usual communication.
Are we so dependent on these tools?
If there is something really urgent I don't think people would use WhatsApp in the first place, or when did you text with 911 the last time using WhatsApp?
Maybe we got even more productive and thoughtful during these cutt-off hours. Hours without notification, chit-chat and that social background hum we so much used to be in doesn't sound that bad, does it?
Like this you waste charging cycle. I doubt this "few minutes before leaving home" can charge your phone up to 100%. Every cycle you do not charge from 0% up to 100% can be considered a wasted cycle. And in wasting things we are good ;)
