They are ruled by an avowedly Marxist (state-capitalist) government, who have lifted hundreds of millions from abject poverty, in the largest economic miracle of our lifetimes.
I'm not saying it was pristine. But you make an extremely poor case against Marx, or the negative effects of US imperialism on the global poor.
Had never heard of these plates. At least the current models may well make the problem worse:

After spending more time and money than on fancy keyboards than I'd like to admit, two of these side by side (an informal 'split' keyboard) is by far the easiest on my wrists and shoulder blades.

If this is on the M5 data set as a benchmark, Prophet wouldn't be a great model choice at all. It's fantastic for dense, long, univariate time series with strong seasonality. M5 is very very sparse and intermittent. The M5 competition was won with lgbm, which isn't a time-series model at all. (Edit: looks like this defaults to something like lgbm, so, unsurprising results.)
But what if your company ultimately acts as a selfish individual, too? Perhaps it even has a fiduciary duty to do so?
There's a good argument that most venture backed software companies are exactly "a selfish and cynical bargain".
It's been a good few years since I've met a senior technical staffer at a 'successful' Bay company who genuinely thinks they're "making the world a better place".
EDIT: Not that I disagree with your broader point that selfishness is an undesirable characteristic for an individual, society or ideology. But it seems inappropriate to attribute the problem to ICs or their managers.
As a result, many are communing hours a day, to sit on zoom calls. Wasting their valuable time on earth for the sake of a manager's dictat.
Things are good. But they can always be better :)
Management pretty often do not have the best ideas, and often the people doing the work know how best to do it.
