Because you see a robot do one thing, doesn't mean it can do other things. We've had good robot demos for decades.

For all we know they could've spent 5 years and 10 million dollars on getting this robot to fold laundry. That doesn't mean it'll be able to mop the floor better than a Roomba in a decade.

It's not about boycotting or regulations. Just don't buy products you don't get to own, it's not that hard.

I think Rust deals with lowest-common-denominator APIs quite well, by introducing OS specific extensions (like std::os::unix).

There's no reason Python and Ruby can't provide the same.

Lack of development. Federation is really complicated, but Forgejo has some foundation now (you can federate stars).

It will likely require some grant money to become usable.
