I have HH and donate regularly with Vitalant, who has a monopoly on donations in Colorado. When I was originally diagnosed 20+ years ago, I had a prescription and they discarded the blood. After some research I decided to monitor my own iron levels and decide myself when to donate. Without a prescription, they are able to use the blood.
This is absolutely correct; not sure why you are being downvoted. TPOs are often issued without the targeted party being contacted or having a chance to defend themselves. PPOs tried in family court do not have a “reasonable doubt” requirement; they are regularly granted without substantive evidence or signs of physical abuse. No judge wants to read about somebody being killed after they denied the PO.
I just played a short campaign set in the Dresden Files universe. I started in 5e and asked ChatGPT to recommend a more appropriate system. It recommended Fate so I started over with that. GPT walked me through a different setup without stats and DM’ed a decent adventure. It understood nuances of how I used spells and let me capture a cult leader, imprison them and interrogate them to reveal more of the story.
A year ago, my 9 year old daughter begged me to watch a video from her favorite YouTuber. It was the Great Potato War. We watched all three parts and I became an instant Techno fan. It also led to me playing Hypixel with her for many many hours.
I just bought a Telluride on Monday and love it. It is the highest ranked car on Consumer Reports across all vehicle types. I don't think this is an indicator of a company in trouble.
I love the concept; I've already created some lists of things I'd be embarrassed to show non-ADHD folks. Feature request: Rename existing lists and list items.
Tesla has been shipping cars with integrated self-driving hardware for years. Every car is transmitting data back to Tesla. They have been turning on additional self-driving features every few months for years.
Tesla is doing a limited beta of full self driving now which will be widely expanded in just a few months. I don’t understand how anybody but Tesla is poised to have self driving cars in the near future.
FinFolio | Data Wrangler | Denver, CO | Remote | 5am EST Start
FinFolio simplifies wealth management!
[COVID-19: We went fully remote when COVID hit and aren't going back.]
Help us manage our early-morning data imports. This requires a diverse technical skill set including a little bit of SQL, Regex, Excel, DOS, PowerShell, C#, and other data-related tools. You will grind away at automating our existing processes and manually run any steps that have not been automated.
This is a mostly-entry-level role and you will learn a lot on the job. We train our data team in SQL, C# and similar technologies. We are about to promote one of our data wranglers into a development role and are seeking a replacement.
Email me at matt abar at finfolio dot com and mention you saw this on YC. I am the founder and CEO. Thanks!
I am teaching my daughters to code. (10y and 7y) They are taking classes remotely and all the extracurricular activities are cancelled. I am also working from home. This is a unique opportunity that I may never have with them again.
Yesterday my oldest started to use the Roblox editor. I am researching Roblox training courses (would love some suggestions). An hour ago I showed her Zork and introduced her to Inform. (http://inform7.com/)
We've been using Pragli for a few weeks. The team loves it! We used Sococo and Tandem in the past and this is the first presence app that is really being used.
FinFolio makes wealth management simpler for professional investment advisers!
We need a SQL specialist who can help manage our daily imports, quickly resolve daily problems, and design and develop tools for managing billions in financial assets. Can you help scale us from 200 to 10,000 financial advisors over the next few years?
Note this all has to happen before the market opens, requiring an early (5am EST) start.
FinFolio | ETL Data Engineer | Denver, CO | REMOTE | Full-time
FinFolio makes wealth management simpler! We need a data-wrangling SQL guru who can design and develop tools for managing billions in financial assets. Are you the visionary who can scale us from 200 to 10,000 financial advisors over the next few years?
I am the CEO/founder. Contact me at matt abar at finfolio dot com (remove all spaces) and mention you saw this post.
I have a variant on this. I start with a bullet-list of functionality I think I’ll need. Then I write one test each for items that could impact my architectural choices. Once I finish that first pass I go back and flesh out each item with multiple tests as necessary.
Flushing out the architecture early is the trickiest part for me. Occasionally I miss a seemingly-simple feature that ends up requiring an architecture change. If this happens late in the process, I may pay for the oversight with hours of refactoring.
FinFolio | SQL/C# ETL Developer, Data Conversion Specialist | Full-Time | Onsite or Remote | Denver, CO
FinFolio makes wealth management simpler! Our SaaS app runs the backoffice for professional wealth managers. We do reporting, trading, billing, client portals and more. We are mostly remote but have a fun co-working spot in the Denver RINO art district.
We need you to convert investment data from older accounting systems systems onto ours. You will use SQL, C# and our custom ETL tool to do this. You will also help with internal IT chores and other coding tasks as time allows.
We primarily looking for ETL-type developers but are open to non-developers who are wizards at SQL, scripting, Excel, etc. This would be a great entry point into a development career.
