It's actually better for workers when layoffs are announced in advanced. They can prepare for it and not make an important financial decisions e.g.: buying house while waiting
Reading is not a proxy for thinking. When you read a book about something you can get information which took the author of the book 10 or even more times to write. You cannot simply mindlessly read the book without thinking therefore you learn when you read
Other companies use private ethereum blockchains. The worst part is that Ethereum community called Ripple a scam coin because banks don't actually use it for transactions but they didn't care to realize that ethereum is the same
Thank god I live in EU. I applied for many positions in different countries. They usually just ask for experience with different technologies and projects. All the algorithm problems that I was given were just to test programming logic (no big O, trees, heaps, etc)
Damn I couldn't even read the article without:
1. Googling something that came to my mind
2. Going to reply to my friend on facebook (later completely forgot why I went to facebook and kept scrolling)
3. Checking Hacker News comments
4. Writing a comment
