Skill issue. I write in all my books and routinely revisit them. There are times where I can answer questions I’ve written in the margins after another read. Likewise, I also erase things and write other things as I gain more insight.
What's worse is that HN doesn't even try to figure out how such a result could be obtained. They just take it at face value and go into dear diary mode.
In your examples, you didn’t “make” anything. The person whose work trained the LLM made the work. The landscaper made the lawn. I don’t know how it’s possible to take pride in doing nothing.
I can hire a maid to make my bed for me and tell her how exactly to fluff my pillows and duvet but I would take no pride in that.
Using your analogy, creating work in Blender would be like the chef whereas using something like an image viewer would be like using a knife to cut tape on boxes.
If knives were easy to use you wouldn’t see as many kitchen mishaps as we do.
Regarding the latter, are you able to obtain good results from an LLM? With graphics programming work, I find LLMs only help in cases where the task would take me 5 mins or so.
