I use the first word of my business name on HN (and many social media sites) - so my biz could identify me, but - they only end up with a biz address or a PO box. I use another (undisclosed) Linux distrib. name for other down under sites. For subscription sites, I generally use disposable email addresses that will never lead back to my real identity. Ironically, my Google identity is my real name, but - I never conduct searches about anything personal or that leads back to me (such as she buys Charmin toilet paper - sheet on her). So for the most part any Google algorithmic activity would classify me as a guy. (All tech or infosec related). I've learned to lie to Facebook about anything personal and refuse to use chat or Facemail.I find FB useful to keep tabs on family - and I never air any dirty laundry.

I think it is all in the mindset. I've met CEO's that think they can walk on water "Oh, Calgon - take it away..." And I've met CEO's who actually still do the grunt work. I prefer the latter because you should never forget where you began...

I consult with Getcocoon.com and work on their social media accounts as well as blog for them. Facebook has become a HUGE pita lately with fan page censorship...
I have great instincts and noticed strange things happening prior to the first fan page removal.
1- You can't login and start to get messages that your account is currently unavailable due to site issues.
2- they do not send an email or reason why your fan page was removed.
3- your fan page still shows up in facebook search but you can't access it.
So today I posted about "Facebook Application permissions and how to take control of them."
The same three steps I listed above occurred again...
The Cocoon Firefox plug-in is all about Internet security and privacy and has options to block 3d party ad servers and Facebook tracking - obviously this does not play well with Facebook.
Cocoon had under 300 fans - so they could easily squash the page(s.) I need people like you to help (I'm not sure how yet) but I know you have big voices and potentially big feet - to move this post ahead so that it gets noticed.

It is not just Groupon that hurts customers. When another partner website jacks up prices - they are also accountable. How do I know this? I spent one day (I chose it as my final working day)working Groupon complaints at a company where the pricing on the company portal Groupon page was jacked.
