You're looking at it backwards. White people get an automatic advantage because they're white. Any advantages given to minorities are an attempt to balance the game.

My problem with code search is that when I’m searching I’ll randomly get dumped to github.com/search with the search blanked, and anything I put in the search box at that URL is ignored. I have to go back in my history until I’m in the normal GitHub UI again. My search has also been discarded there, but at least I can interact with it.

I don’t think it’s a very persuasive rebuttal. I infer that McQuinn is a libertarian, which explains the issue: it amounts to ‘well [as a white man who automatically has power in every social situation I encounter] I haven’t had any problems, unlike those weak-willed dorks’ and bad-faith implications that Freeman supports capitalist structure.
I’m sure that’s true, but the premise of giving the responsibility to a machine is that it will consistently outperform humans. There should be less evidence available for FSD critics.
Is it actually better than a bad human driver? (And what’s your metric for ‘bad’ — tired, drunk, distracted, a teenager who just got their license but didn’t actually practice enough?) Because I’ve watched enough videos of people having to quickly override Full Self-Driving in ordinary situations that I’m really skeptical that it’s better than most drivers. I’d be willing to say that in practice FSD usage is small enough to not be a serious threat to public safety, but I haven’t seen evidence that it’s better than a human.
