you won't expect rock samples from New England and middle east are the same, right? The current theory is that samples collected by Chang'e 6 could be the oldest sample we ever saw from Moon. It would be worth to study and prove that.
In the past year there were 6 probes (include Chang'e-6) trying to make a soft landing on the moon and only half of them succeed or partially succeed. I'm not sure how it counts as "no other competitors".
I don't have access behind the paywall. But from the title, if it is only telecom carriers devices, basically RISC-V and ARM chips.
Telecom giants like Huawei and ZTE use their own network processor on data plane for a long time, replacing control plane CPU (usually x86 or ARM) is not a big task. Smaller companies who relies on Broadcom solution may have a tough time, but 3 years to find a replacement and finish adaptation is not that hard too.
That's why the rover landing happened 3 months after the probe reached Mars orbit. They spent that time to do all the reconnaissance work to prepare the landing.
Also this is the reason this mission is considered to be a great success, it shows their ability to landing on a totally unknown planet.
