They take a headline and present an article from different 3 news sources. The 3 sources will include left leaning, right leaning and more neutral new organizations so you get a perspective from all sides.
I would also suggest looking into the Oxygen Advantage system. Just finished reading the Breathing Cure by Patrick McKeown, makes some interesting claims but mostly found helpful exercises to retrain nasal breathing
I personally just felt a little sadder and lower energy in my first winter in a gloomy climate. The vitamin D just made me slightly more chipper and energetic.
I didn’t do a blood test pre vitamin D but tested recently and my levels look good, so my doc said to just keep on it.
Wouldn’t say the difference is transformative but it’s helpful.
I disagree with the evaluation made on the response for a risotto recipe by ChatGPT. While I agree that a lot modern recipe sites are ad filled garbage, I believe there is value in getting a quick glance on who the recipe writer is.
Where culture do they come from? What experience do they have? These insights can help me understand how to adjust the recipe ingredients to my tastes. Versus a generic recipe from ChatGPT that doesn’t provide any context.
Plus if I find a recipe I really like then I can save that website and dig into other recipes from that person because now I know I am more likely to trust their tastes.
I felt this exact thing at my last job! I thought I finally had everything I wanted but turns out I was unchallenged and unsatisfied. A couple things that helped me were picking up other challenging hobbies or books that helped me feel stimulated but ultimately I ended up with a new job.
Turns out the perfect workday is not 2 hours of boring work but 5-7 hours of focused, interesting work.
Here’s a few things that I have found really helpful recently:
1. Put your phone in another room and only check it at scheduled periods. For me, after breakfast I put my phone out of sight until lunch and then back in the other room it goes until 3:30 PM.
2. Try to keep separate spaces for entertainment and focus. For example at your desk only do productive work like development or paying bills. If you want to watch a youtube video then take your laptop to your couch and watch it there or just watch youtube only on your TV.
3. Check out this podcast from Andrew Huberman called Focus Toolkit on focus cycles, focus music and more.
Also don’t be afraid to take breaks (without a screen), we aren’t machines. Just walk around and daydream sometimes
