I would pay for a foss paperless ngx fork with support for running in a readonly filesystem of arbitrary file structure, and giving me full text search with ocr for images, pdfs, and ideally descriptions of video files
Wanted to give it a shot but got disappointed when I launched it and the following happened:
- Outgoing request to googleapis.com
- Outgoing request to segment.io
- Outgoing request to sentry.io
- Requires sign up (only via Github, mind you)
I understand the first request is probably to get some dynamic configuration, even though I'd rather my terminal ship with static configuration. But then you have segment and sentry: not interested in sending telemetry from my terminal. Finally having user accounts for a terminal is such as strange concept.
I really wanted to like it, too. The screenshots look great
I also have astigmatism which makes all dark mode websites and apps difficult to read. As "cool" as this trend and previously "hacker" color scheme has gotten, don't remove light modes!
My first turn off when I wanted to do this was how I couldn't use the phone number in most websites/app because they checked it for being a "virtual number" and other names.
I've had some of this with my google voice number too but it has gotten much better recently (before I couldn't even use it with Signal), however I'm not sure what the state of using twilio for this is.
