Been tempting to spin up a competitor but the business/compliance side seems nightmarish whilst the actual tech aspects are trivial on modern hardware.
I lowkey judge any developer who is noticable slow at typing as I can't imagine they're using a computer effectively at such a pace given how much keyboard hitting needs to occur during regular use alone.
Not that it's a high bar but I'm surprised more companies don't test wpm when hiring over rote crap like LC.

My guess is money laundering, given that the product is pretty vapourware-y (as a game dev in a past life: Vircadia looks more like 'how a web dev thinks multiplayer games work' aka basically unusable in a serious title).
I've seen worse but honestly you may be overshooting: agency work, education, and seven years of 'independent consultant' reads like you just coasted after the initial few years... for 20YOE I see limited leadership or tech skills.
Isn't YC well positioned to disrupt Google's monopoly? They just need to pause funding AI slop and focus on quality again, even if it means doubling the standard deal to get the necessary talent interested.
