If you work with a particular technology than start a blog and start getting your name out there on things like Stackoverflow and Github. Once you start engaging in the community you will be surprised how many inquiries you will get. Once you have a couple of jobs, try use those relationships to get more jobs. Referrals and word of mouth are invaluable.
Most of the replies here focus on the gaming experience. What about for entertainment (don't mean porn)? I'm unfamiliar with the Vive/Oculus ecosystem but is there not a huge opportunity for live content (concerts, sports etc.)? I'm also a developer and can see a huge amount of potential for all sorts of content-based applications.
Regarding your P.S., there has been a huge controversy here in Ireland regarding the move to Lisbon since it was announced. Paddy Cosgrave has blamed everyone under the sun for the problems that apparently require the event to be moved, but at the end of the day, the Portuguese government offered them money while the Irish government refused to cater to their demands so I would have no doubt that the only thing that matters to those involved is the cash. The whole debacle has been pretty embarrassing for Paddy Cosgrave and the WebSummit.
I really wanted to pick up a Pebble Time when they publicly launched. I was so disappointed to see that they were charging €250 (~$280) in Europe while only $199 in The States. Now, the Steel and the Round are €300. It's just too much money. Even considering VAT, the difference in price between EU & US seems excessive

I use RPis for bespoke installations for clients. One of the problems has been offering an easy way to make adjustments to the apps the RPi is running without a keyboard/mouse/monitor setup or having to SSH in. This is a great way to offer the ability to make changes. Looking forward to trying one out

He did an Indiegogo campaign after essentially abandoning the project and failing to sell it and hasn't updated in 6 months after taking $25,000 from backers[0][1][2][3] He also raised the price of the product because "There're too many pre-orders. We decide to raise price to reduce the sale."[4]
How does insurance work with this? What if my driver is robbed, gets in a crash or decides to pocket my stuff? Do Uber insure the contents or the retailer (or neither)?
Yes, this seems to happen to all of my chargers. So far I've had to fix 4 (all on the magsafe end).
I used self amalgamating tape[0] on two of them and it's worked really well (albeit a slightly ugly fix). On the other two I used Sugru[1] which is prettier but not as flexible.
