Have you run into any rate limiting on iMessage? We usually see bulk messaging (eg: appointment reminders) getting silently dropped by carriers if over 100 messages are sent from that number in a day.
Additionally, what stops Apple from breaking your service, like so many other unofficial chat APIs?
We've rebuilt our internal business processes using erxes.io, having one place for email, live chat, Twitter DMs, Facebook & more has been quite handy.
Still working on deeper integrations with our other systems, its API is GraphQL which I'm not super familiar with.
All of those providers share the same non-redundant transport provider out of Chelan County FYI. City of Tacoma also has a similar setup, but they moved too early and are stuck with a cable network.
Those same DSL techs often know exactly what needs to be done to save the telecom company they work for, deploy GPON.
Verizon broke new ground and did it in the early 2000s, and its the only reason they still have as many customers as they do. The assets they sold to Frontier were partially upgraded, and have taken a beating due to Frontier's internal incompetence and poor service. Reactivating service to an existing ONT should not take more than a few minutes, yet it takes 24+hrs with Frontier.
The cable companies are willing to do what is neccesary to get customers up and running, which is how they have hollowed out the incumbent telecom's business.
This kind of "free market" for electricity tends to drive up infrastructure costs needlessly (see Australia), while incentivizing bad behaviour by generation suppliers in the market (see Enron).
Public utilities generally provide a higher caliber of service at a lower price, with less administrative bloat.
If anything, P2P high bandwidth connections are often more reliable as your traffic likely stays on your ISPs network rather than needlessly hairpinning through a central server outside their network.
Hence why VoIP like WebRTC encourages direct media rather than wasting a trip to a server, the server's peering can often be much worse than a path between two users on residential ISPs.
Sounds like they did not make a modicum of effort to support any platform.
iTunes was multiplatform (Windows & OS X), if Apple wanted they could invest the resources to do so for Apple Music. Apparently it is not a priority tho
I would avoid binning people into builders or maintainers, there are many more issues that could prompt one to leave Tesla and Google, eg: Work environment or ethical issues.
Kroger (and their subsidiaries like QFC, Fred Meyer, Fry's Marketplace, etc), Walmart, Safeway (and Albertsons/Randalls) all use Suse with BTRFS for their point of sale systems.
Think of all the people who live closer to the urban core in Boston now, due to this decision not making long distance commuting easier.
Portland started ripping out freeways after I-205 destroyed multiple neighborhoods, and Seattlites organized to stop the central district freeway after watching I-5 vivisect the city, paving parks and neighborhoods.
Representation by industry has worked really poorly for Hong Kong, its a key part of why they have the majority of thr population protesting and demanding real democracy, not the corporate controlled legislature that currently presides over HK.
Great, sounds like TurboTax will still be able to compete if the IRS gives people tax filings precalculated, as TurboTax can say "We can save you $XXX!"
Where are the extra 50+ million users you claim coming from? Am I to believe McDonalds has a 100% retention rate after app installation?
