I've actually been trying to look into something similar? I have a pile of old vapes from friends/family I want to re-purpose, but don't really know where to start.
I laughed pretty hard when I noticed the same issues and clicked the 'discuss' link and found that your post had been inundated with the comments you are referring to XD
I've used FreeTaxUSA for the past two years as well, and have been very happy with it. I'll put all my info into turboTax, and let it calculate my refund, then put the same data into FreeTax and verify it's the same. It's saved me a LOT of money.
I got a chuckle when I tried to enter 'cat food' and all it would let me enter is 'cat', then it informed me that I should not feed my cat to my dog. A+ advice.
My favorite part of Mario Paint was always the music generator. I'd sit and play with it for hours... To this day I still enjoy listening to MPC (Mario Paint Composer) tunes on YouTube.

Some of this is necessary, I think. When you get an auto insurance quote, companies like ChoicePoint (LexisNexis) are what provide driver history (accidents, violations, insurance fraud info, etc).
So it's not like they're Google/FB/Amazon using this data for ad purposes.
Obviously, not all of the money comes from carriers like this, but I wanted to point out that some of it is legit.
