im not saying it wasn't a stupid thing to do but its a "stop the data centre" movement not "stop all ai" and it really sucks the author of this decided to sensationalise this; particularly when it flip-flops back and forth going "perhaps they dont hate ai" and then back to "omg they hate ai".
just kind of a rough blogpost overall imo.
it screams "im so absolutely correct but im also afraid of maybe being wrong so im gonna sprinkle the occasional thinking emoji in there to cover my ass in an internet arguement"
tires release a massive amount of micropastics and various other horrible things that are made significantly worse when combined with the fumes
and while the article touches on those i can't help but, like; wonder if its the trifecta of pollution that's really doing folk in. noise, tires and combustion.
i dunno why we dont do what the art world does and just blacklist you from everything if you're caught stealing/tracing and even revoke your degree(s) for it.
ai detectors always have so many false positives that im convinced they're only put in place by people too dumb to know any better and snakeoil salesmen.
i know the dream for capitalists is to be able to point an llm at something and say "do and/or fix it" but we still can't even get them to not go quite literally insane if allowed to run for an extended period of time
and you can only kill weyoun, awaken the next vorta clone and have him 'catch up' on all that its missed so many times before they just end up with a complete mess, so. uh. yeah.
doubt they can just "fix" their problems like that.
in order to inform people that im not a bot/llm i -- outside of giving up on autocorrect -- use two dashes instead of one solid line because LLMs were using them a lot.
unfortunately microsoft (specifically outlook) and libreoffice have chosen to replace them with a proper em dash even if you turn off autocorrect which is bonkers-levels of infuriating.
if i turn off something it /should be turned off/, not just be kinda turned off; y'know?
also not to be rude to anyone who still uses it but i dont know anyone under the age of 40 that uses twitter still -- unless they do porn -- and a lot of people i know have begun to joke that it's the new facebook because it's like 99% racist old people and bots.
not saying this to be mean but more just to inform people that hey; careful about admitting you're still using it since at best you're convincing the room you're a porn addict and at worst you're an alt-right fascist.
Sentence uttered by person who apparently never had their English/whatever language teacher y'know...
teach you anything.
I very much remember being taught how to write titles for articles and papers -- both news and research -- through Grades 6-10 and so the idea of someone not having been taught this is actually a little odd to hear.
Nonetheless while I disagree with you I won't attempt to argue or debate you on this.
