It’s not their IP, they never created data they were training on in the first place, at best they derived existing data without asking if they can commercialized it
in simple terms closed models are rugpull waiting to spring at unsuspecting users, it's like you take all worst components of terminal capitalism (including price cartels), subscriptions relying on almost monopolistic dependency and microsoft/uber models of hugging competition to death to remain only provider and dictate all conditions
it's a real paradox, that chinese models are what guards democratization and private use of ai while us models are moted castles with "kings" crying that you are stealing their legally stolen goods... what times we are living in...
this exact trick is used in some drm schemes (to protect either text or font file, or both), where codepoints are either mixed up or font is converted to vector curves and assigned random indexes
It depends on how big/dense is your screen, high frequency message is actual text while low frequency message is decoy text. Probably so that it shows when frames are averaged together without checking actual motion vectors. It is similar effect like that image showing either young woman or old man depending on distance you are viewing it from (or other one with either Einstein or Marylin Monroe)

chromium is basically operating system at this point, it lacks kernel and ability to boot independently (added in chromium os), which is both good (from abilities standpoint) and bad (when copy of chromium is bundled with every app that renders webform with text field and button and nothing else)
when it goes about using webapps as desktop apps, native PWA support should be used, it would - in theory at least - lessen most issues electron apps have but will need extra effort and that's why we can't have nice things (like RAM free for other tasks)
why offer expensive service when it's effectively useless and only add to cost and amount of work? what else they offer, "summarize my text" and "generate custom emoji"? I can live without that...

It does not need to directly solve any particular problem to be overall good for consumers, by putting pressure to all those subscription based solutions… at least it’s private and does not require you to provide all your data…
Too late now. Multiple people having anything to say when choosing hardware and software, including me, will no longer advise or approve buying windows machine or using windows in general.
This is just cheap damage control, just wait and see if they actually do all of those things correctly. Slow file explorer was an issue since very beginning of windows 11 and they "fix" it only now? But they took time to add copilot to snippet tool?
