Medium has RSS feeds for pretty much everything, from users to tags to publications, to tags in a publications, to stories clapped on by a given user....
At Unlock, we believe the web needs a new business model. We believe the decentralization promise of the web cannot be achieved if economic incentives are not aligned between consumers and creators. For this, we're building a protocol which lets anyone restrict access to their creations and for consumers to earn points when they discover and promote the best creations.
I don't mean to defend Facebook but Instant Articles is based on RSS... hardly a walled gardern. On the other end, AMP is (yet another) re-invention of the wheel from Google.
"This is why you see so many popups and banners on mobile websites
that try to get you to download apps. It is also why so many mobile
websites are broken."
Huh, is that surprising? They break their mobile sites and expect people to still use them more than apps? This is self fulfulling: if you make a sucky website, people will NOT use it. Make a wonderful mobile site and people will not care about your apps.
