no, they are not. She is cherry picking examples, sometimes twisting the truth so it fits her agenda. See the Hitman example where she portrays violence against women as integral part of the game while you are in fact punished by the game for doing so. She also never properly cites research (please point me that is not true). If her videos were well researched and fair, maybe there would have never such a shitstorm.

What I don't get is how they constantly counter-act the common rules on how to deal with trolls or stalkers. It really feels like they are bathing in the outrage, not interested in actually solving it. And that's one reason why I sadly don't feel any sympathy but rather understand the vocal (non socio-/psychopath) critics.
There is no fair discussion so I wish the media would simply stop with their help on filling the fire...
Disclaimer: Middle class white male who once got online death threats after banning a sociopath from a site of his. I discussed them privately, did not give any reaction to the freak apart from quickly banning the new accounts and where possible delete the verbal abuse. It took several weeks but ultimately it just got quite and we all live happily ever after.
There are users here who do some really fine commenting. But they got "deaded" for one reason or another. I would love to see buzzfeed and similar sites punished for their wrongdoings even if sometimes they might provide something good. The worse clearly overweighs the good to me.
It's basically a huge collection of documents, mostly scientific with a FOSS codebase for serving. It comes with metadata. It is mirrored a lot thanks to bring completely open. It originated in Russia and has had quite the history. It is a great step into the direction how documents (especially scientific) should be available to anyone in bulk without restrictions.
I would guess that they do it similarly to private trackers. Each user gets a unique and secret ID which is transmitted when announcing. The tracker then decides if the user is allowed to get the swarm details.
