There are people working at Mozilla today, many of whom are pulling in a decent salary, who believe they are working for social justice charity rather than a technology non-profit.
Firefox is the golden goose but they might eventually bankrupt themselves by spending resources on non-core missions, like the GNOME foundation who had to whip out the begging bowl because they spent all their money on a women's outreach program rather than developing technology.
Quite interesting - they have effectively hacked the marriage system in Massachusetts.

Will there be repercussions?
For example, will they will be allowed to live together under one roof? A polygamous mormon family who have a TV show have to live in houses next door to each other as the law does not allow them to all live in the same house.
Also since the women are in a de facto three-way marriage, perhaps the campaign for marriage equality should support them?

TL;DR:
Tried to become a professional Android developer. Didn’t realize posting some apps for beta testing would result in being banned for life by Google before even having a chance to get started. I assumed a human would be involved in any banning process and they would clearly see that I was not intending to fool anyone and that my apps were harmless. Consider this before investing time and money into developing for Android. If one of their algorithms thinks you’re a bad guy, you’re banned for life.

XPC is a new protocol for sandboxed processes to communicate with each other, it's basically distributed objects. Again, a secret even though things like CORBA, Java RMI, etc. have been around for years.
This faux outrage over one man's views, which were hardly extremist given they were shared by 7 million Californians in a vote, has robbed Mozilla of its co-founder. Who the hell is Hampton Catlin to call a boycott? I doubt anyone had even heard of him or his software company.
Message to Hampton Catlin and Michael Lintorn Catlin: if you want to make a brave stand for gay rights, why don't you start protesting outside a mosque or an embassy where under Islam the penalty for simply being gay is DEATH ?
Under Islam, the penalty for being gay is DEATH. Beheading, stoning or hanging, depends on how the Sharia court is feeling that day. So why don't all these activists start calling out and protesting outside mosques and embassies?
Perhaps the mob are cowards, more comfortable lynching one man over his views rather than tackling real persecution on a global scale.

Anyway, I think it would have been more accurate for the gay marriage campaign to not brand themselves as a fight for marriage equality since it clearly excludes certain factions. Small point but I think the details matter.

Firstly, Mozilla is a technology organization, not a political one.
Secondly, is marriage really a civil right? If you say yes, explain why campaigners aren't fighting to allow brother to marry sister, mother to marry son, or polygamous marriages which have a long history in many cultures?
I think there are many people who would agree that Eich should not have been forced out for his views and donation, and those who pushed the issue are just as intolerant and bigoted as they claim Eich to be. Tolerance works both ways.
