Have you looked into Nimrod? It is different from Python in that it embraces some concepts that Python rejects (e.g., AST macros, which are actually quite brilliant in Nimrod) but it's the most pythonic programming language that I know of that compiles to native code.

The bounty only explicitly mentions stock firmware but it is implied that the exploit should also not require disassembling your device and messing with its hardware. This makes me wonder: would a hardware exploit be easier? Modchips have been a staple of the console scene since at least the original PlayStation but I am unaware of their use in smartphones.

As a technical fix to the Scribd copy-paste problem you could implement a user script to perform frequency analysis on the text of the document and to correct the text as it is being loaded substituting the DRM font for a regular one. (You can't easily perform the substitution at copy time with JavaScript and put the modified text into the clipboard.)

Not just that but an extensible set of file type filters that are simple to invoke is what I had in mind. E.g., the tool would let you perform searches like

  find++ --Python  projects/archive/200?

  find++ --video trailer

where in the latter case the hypothetical find++ would refer to my config to get a list of video file extensions and then print a list of all files in the current directory and its subdirectories with the word "trailer" in their name. For better effect it would ship with useful filters like "--video" by default.

Have you tried using it in production (for some value of "production")? I wrote a web API "Hello, world!" in Jester about half a year ago as a way to learn a little Nimrod and at first glance found it to be a nice web framework.

Looking at Nimrod's AST macros (which I haven't used) I imagine Julia as a closer competitor to it than Go. They both appear to come from a "programmable programming language" mindset, though Julia arguably more so because it's homoiconic.

I think what would suit their use is a plugin that rather than prevent building would make the world slowly regenerate towards a preset form (the map of Denmark).

Edit: Either that or create an incentive for players to restore and maintain key landmarks with premium items. ("Rebuild Copenhagen and get diamond armor! Help defend it for X redstone per day!" or something like that. What do successful freemium Minecraft servers offer their sponsors?) These sorts of quests will probably help keep the players interested for longer and produce viral stories as well, so more people will visit virtual Denmark.

I run Firefox and last I tried Chrome it did use more RAM for the same content. However, I wonder: since Chrome runs its tabs as a collection of processes does that mean individual tabs could be swapped out by the OS without affecting the rest?
