Forgetting the overload of medical infrastructure for a bit, here are some of the myriad of issues that this leads to:
1. There are 20-50 year olds with pre-existing conditions such as asthma who are at higher risk. For example, a colleague on my team has asthma. Another colleague on my team has a husband who has asthma. As a Manager, I can't ask either of them to come into work.
2. What about 20-50 year olds who come in contact with 50+ year old or live together with them? They may be at low risk, but they will definitely spread the virus around more
It becomes quite complicated dealing with these things on a case by case basis.
I currently work in Tech Strategy at a Big 4 - the reason why Big 4s want to roll it back is because over the last few years, their revenue in audit is steadily decreasing. Especially with automated tools, outsourcing, RPA taking over and making a lot of the grunt work significantly cheaper. At the same time, the consulting revenues are significantly going up. SOX limits the scope of work the Big 4 can execute at firms they audit (nothing related to financially significant systems etc.). The best client relationships are with the firms the Big 4 audit! Hence, the push!

India's intellectuals have started criticizing the Government for not speaking out against this violence. In fact, some BJP affiliated people have made some really controversial statements with regards to Muslims in India. Arundhati Roy is among a host of people who are returning their awards in protest of the Government's stance.
As an ex-management consultant, I don't see any other plays that were possible for Elop. I am going off of the Bloomberg article for some conclusions. He is vilified simply because he became the last CEO of a beloved empire which was already gasping for it's last breaths. His plays were the right plays from a Business Perspective. But at that point, it was already too late and Apple/Google had already conquered the market. The only viable option would have been to re-invent the cell phone.
1. Nokia had a Maps business. Obviously, Elop wanted to see it on the chosen platform.
2. Nokia had a host of apps that they wanted to see on the chosen platform.
3. Google refused to allow modifications to their MADA.
4. Meego/Maemo were not viable/not ready.
5. Microsoft's offer came with an infusion of cash.
You could try and maybe normalize salaries based on the location I guess, but this also hits a snag when you take into account occupation. Some occupations generally pay lesser than others. Do they then not warrant H1Bs? Don't think so.
I understand the comment on poor fact checking but don't get why it is voted all the way to the top since it takes away the focus on the message to some extent.
This is a serious problem with no apparent solutions. Even Everglades apex predators, the alligators are unable to deal with the issue. A fight between a python and an alligator is fatal to both.
