It seems less reliable to learn is optimization quirks, since you’re depending on an (infrequently changing?) implementation detail. Also writing those things sounds muh messier and less maintainable. All heuristic points I’m making.
You admit in your own writing that this is a new way to use twitter. And this wasn't twitter anyways. Most social media platforms have support for blasting things across the nation and support for more private info. You'd have to be insane to actually argue (and it seems thats what you're doing) that Peter Thiel was trying to tell the nation he was gay.
You don’t understand that quote. It’s saying 70% of the time when people think reinforcement learning is the solution it’s not. Not saying that 30% of all problems are solvable by reinforcement learning. Sometimes I can’t tell if people here you included are intentionally misreading things to further their agenda.
It doesn’t matter, but for the record I don’t think you’re right to assert this is uncivil. I didn’t write it pejoratively, I thought he was focusing on an extraneous detail and missing the bigger picture, which is (imo) the meaning of obtuse. I think if you’re in battle mode then you’d be inclined to take it as an insult, but I don’t think it must be one (and I don’t think it’s wise to write as though everyone’s in battle mode - to cater to that)
Is this uncivil? I can see why its unsubstantive (Although my parent wasnt exactly substantive either). Whether or not its against the rules - do you understand my point?
