Was this news outlet doing political activism? I am aware that Hungary has been making recent steps to preserve its culture which have been disfavored by post-modern European sensibilities.
All similar statements about accepting “everyone” obviously does not include those with hurtful opinions. Not saying that’s the case with this OP just pointing what “everyone” means now.
> without fear of being coerced into silence or conformity
Is there still a living pocket of progressive thinkers like him who would still stand for this in the days of the Daily Stormer (recently, arguably justifiably, coerced into silence?)
Seems to me that a difficult aspect of the news editor's job is deciding what to cover. CNN does not cover "Clinton email scandal". Fox News does not cover "Russia collusion." If one of these outlets did so they would be pilloried for "platforming" or "normalizing". How do you guys think WikiTribune will gate their news?
What kind of organization has budget for pen-testing but not for security door controls? Also Facebook hounds their users to protect their info from strangers like Sophie. Also lock-picking seems brazen to an unbelievable degree. Credulity: strained.
I believe it's made even more difficult by the shaming and silencing of ideas. "shadow-ban" SMH. I want to address all ideas just without this kind of bile and ad-hominem. I am turning my attention to diversity in brick-laying hoping they don't have these problems. :)
When I was a kid I appreciated the sacrifice that my parents made to provide for me such as they did. I respected the teachers who were devoted to educating me. I believe I may have a genetic propensity for gratitude which animates my life into my 50s.
It seems another word for "moderating" is silencing. This is going to be a very difficult sell to largely centrist Americans. While the polar edges would wish for the silencing of "hate speech" or "anti-Americanism." I believe the vast majority of normal people fear adding the power to draw those lines to the bulging arsenals of giant corporations inexorably entwined with daily lives. Much more likely IMHO we will see a move by some on the center-right to wrest some of this accidental power away from them through anti-monopoly litigation.
