wow... yeah... strongly strongly agree. I love email, rss, irc, etc and still use them today and strongly disagree that we shouldn't educate people coming up about these tools.
It's very easy for people today to forget the 1800s that had significant periods of deflation and thus one of the reasons the federal reserve was created... although they allowed deflation to happen during the great depression as well. There is certainly some debate that can be had about the way to easy money policies that exist today (and I do think it's far too dovish), but people need to learn their history and realize the damage that deflation does.
Have to agree. 280 characters is not that much better than 140, and what good ideas are compressed into that format. Sure you can link to a blog post, but then you might as well use rss.
Agree with this and this is why everytime I see people suggesting some project should be moved from being hosted on a mailing list to github, I roll my eyes
Definitely agree with this. Twitter and other social media has really forced the short 140 character snippet or image to be favored over thoughtful posts and blog articles.
As a swedish expat for most of life, it's always struck as very strange the American insistence on personal responsibility and railing against the nanny state, yet public schools are treated like jails for children. Going to the bathroom requires a special pass??
Most of the places I know of or where friend's work use Atlassian. I am wondering if this will drive a shift towards GitLab considering the general consensus I've heard is that GitHub Enterprise is too expensive.
I don't agree that centralization in Europe is the answer, that's exactly how you end up relying on others manufacturing capacity. Decentralize more so when the political winds change you are not at the mercy of other countries if your own nation has no manufacturing capacity to speak of.
