One problem with the Judge's statement is that it is beyond the scope of an actual case or controversy. A Judge should judge each case individually not make up general rules and policies to prospectively apply to future behaviour, since that is for the legislature and executive in a separation of powers system. If the Judge wants to issue a warning or punishment to a particular prosecutor for a particular inappropriate behavior that would be in bounds; but media statements designed to influence elections are out of bounds for american judicial behavior.
ok; so I read the DeepMind paper and am totally not-impressed. But perhaps I'm confused. Does experience replay not a priori require a known system function? And if you already have a known system function what is the value of an algorithm to deduce what you already know?
“Abstract words such as glory, honor, courage, or hallow were obscene beside the concrete names of villages, the numbers of roads, the names of rivers, the numbers of regiments and the dates.”
"And in the span of just two years the only commercially available quantum computer, the D-Wave One, has already doubled its computational power. Kiss your law goodbye, Mr. Moore." ...?
--should this not be the opposite: i.e. Moore's law brought back to life?
We seem to have a freedom to choose who we would be employed by; i.e. turn down an offer of employment for moral reasons; say I don't want to work for some animal testing lab.
But say I own a restaurant and a animal testing lab moves to town; now do I have a choice but to serve dinner to the executives of said animal testing lab?
What is the difference?
Per U.S. law; I think you would first need to establish 'sexual orientation' as a protected class like race or gender; to allow people to decide that they don't want to serve people based on some moral judgments but not others.
A Bird named the Alpine Swift may fly through the air for a period of several months without stopping... Some people's minds may work on a problem similarly.
