Reads like an ad to me. I was diagnosed with T2D last November (Tuesday before Thanksgiving...bummer). At the time of my diagnosis I was certainly not obese and have lost weight since as I have become aware of sugar/carb intake whereas before I didn't pay any notice. My situation is due to genetics which may be outside the scope of the article, but there is no mention of that fact.
I came in with high hopes reading this but lost interest at "To date, the only clinically proven way to reverse T2D has been bariatric surgery". Nope.
The business model for a laptop and technology in general has become one of planned obsolescence. Products need to be cheap so that a new one can be purchased in a short time.
I do not necessarily subscribe to that notion myself. My phone is a Samsung Fascinate that was purchased in 2010 and runs Froyo. I have no tendency toward latest and greatest however I do not dictate the market either.
I could not access Appendix B (Legal Issues) from the online version but someone posted the PDF which includes that section.
In it this very issue is addressed including the advice "It may be a good idea to carry around a xeroxed copy of the appropriate page from your state's criminal code."
