That doesn’t matter to laid off people if most companies have a hiring freeze and there’s net reduction in tech workforce. It means most laid off people won’t get jobs until companies start growing again.
People like you are why it’s still hard to get ahead as a women. Imagine in every meeting, people assume you’re less qualified for the job before you even start talking.

They could have simply banned buying the stock using unsettled cash or margin. Instead they banned all buys and did a terrible job explaining their reasoning.
I’m sure Asians had the highest education and lowest number of kids and previous marriages, so if anything, normalized data would show Asian males are completely screwed.
Normalized height would be interesting, and could explain some of the bias.
I think a 1% wealth tax is enough to encourage billionaires to move out or CA, but probably not out or US. I doubt most startup founders would consider it when founding the company.
Currently, capital gains is on taxed on sale. Even on sale there are ways to reduce or defer it (opportunity zone investments for example). Some also donate appreciated shares to charities that are suspect (Trump comes to mind).
Most billionaires don’t sell most of their stock during their entire lifetime.
Taxes average 30-40% in CA/NY, lower in WA, which has no state income tax. You are probably thinking about marginal tax rate, not average. Mortgage and property tax in the Bay Area can actually be closer to $100k, but some are paying that on dual income. $600k becomes more like $350k after tax and housing. That's still an insane amount of disposable income, hence everyone buying Teslas.
It seems like they need to charge more or operate a leaner operation. Even after excluding marketing and sales expenses, they’re still not profitable. They also apparently have 12k employees, which is way too high.
