I keep trying and then moving on. Is there a guide on how to actually use all the features or maybe a quick set up guide? I find myself using JUST search and no customization. I have 0 issue with paying if I use it but need a guide or examples. Please share
I have signed up off and on. For me, the starter is just a tad to few searches per month. If I had 400 I would most likely just pay the $5 out of support for the team as I am also hoping to see Orion do better (bitwarden issue)
I have some months where I search for stuff I already know. Like I goto url bar and just type imdb which then initiates a search. I know the dang url but am lazy lol.
I wish the team tons of luck, I monitor the pricing page monthly usually, just hoping to see a small uptick in starter limits as unlimited is just not my use case. $8.00 for unlimited and again, I would sign up just to support them.
Not me.... This is a 30+% increase for my 2 year plan. I have no need for the "extra" things. If I wanted them, I would pay for them. I now have til April to find another solution for 1 pc and about 7tb. Worst case, I will just buy an external and ship the drive to my parents. Use my Synology for local backup, and then the offsite drive. Not ideal but better than this increase.
Not to mention how BB is handling the pushback of the price increase by gaslighting their users.
lol, yea, first thing I saw and even after 2 years I am impressed. Brave has been my goto on my mac forever it seems. I have tried everything but Arc. I want to like safari but lack of extensions (that I use) kill it for me.
While I value your thoughts, judging by the other comments on here, you are in the minority. I REALLY did/do want to like them and their product. Being on a Mac, I have tested both their standard and beta browser. It is decent. However, after seeing Kagi go from free to paid and now being even more, I see the same happening with their browser down the road. I just do not want to invest my time into an experiment only to be treated the way they have to their users. It is just shady.
I am sorry, I said this when they first went pay. Vlad does not seem like a nice guy. My emails that I have exchanged with him have been very short and to the point of "he is better and knows better". I do not pay for their service due to this as well as I do not see the value. I didn't see the value with their old model, and see the value even less now. I give them another year or 2 and they will be a relic of the past. This price hike and the broken promises are a clear indication they are struggling. Welcome to the deep end of the pool, how long can you tread water?
Here is my question. I used Kagi Search in beta, then when it went pay, I stopped due to my search being pretty basic. My concern/question is, will they make this pay too once its out of "beta"
UPDATE [2 hours after initial post]
I heard from compliance who asked a ton of questions and said our email was flagged as spam by their system. Keep in mind, we send to the same 10-15 people and not a single spam or bounce. I wrote back immediately with the info they wanted. As I mentioned, I will update as this progresses.
UPDATE [3 hours after initial post]
Thank you for that information. I have re-activated your account.
So it looks like a response time of about 5 hours. I find that response time more than effective. The issue I still have is the automated block on a paid account + static IP at 4am. It was inconvenient considering we had been sending for almost a full day. I am still looking at staying with mailgun as you all seem to really like them and from what I can see after my tests with them, are quite nice.
So 1 day of usage of a service you are paying for on Sparkpost could get your account suspended. My feeling is if they are going to be THAT overly sensitive, they should do some initial questions prior to signing someone up to a paid account. Not that a paid account should be exempt but it should certainly grant some warning with a few hours before they just block your account. They could easily throttle the paid account for 12 hours with an email that the client needs to email them with info. Atleast email would still be going out even if its slower...
Since YC has slowed my comment down, I wanted to check on speed. I am really really surprised at how slow sparknews is. We are using smtp but here are some stats:
# in outgoing queue Time checked
2848 (starting point) @ 8:45 am
2849 @ 9:01 am
2830 @ 9:19 am
2823 @ 9:25 am
2816 @ 9:30 am
No, I will update the post accordingly. As I just did since they wrote back. I have no issue to give an unwarranted bad review. I think its shady to block an account at 3am after it was being used all day.
