This was the same issue I ran into after signing up. Each notification "type" required a separate unsub link to disable, and there was no visibility on when it will stop sending me emails.
Personally for ToDo Lists and Tasks I use Taskade [1] which let's you organize structured docs into different project workspaces and makes it easy to track. For more visual tasks and organization, I've been playing around with Mural [2] and it gets the job done but can get chaotic.
Both are cross platform which makes it easy to collaborate on.
I recommend blocking all social media on your desktop browser. I use StayFocused [0] to help me do that.
On mobile, turn off all non-human notifications and alerts.
Sundays are the most productive for me. I use a weekly checklist on Taskade [1] to help me track my progress throughout the week, and on Sundays I would archive the list and start a new one from the templates.
I do wish Wunderlist will add more calendar integration, it is more useful for repeated or short-term goals for me. Basecamp works well for team collaboration, but it is getting quite busy UX wise.
For long term goals and planning, I prefer to break things down into bullet points, and categories, and check them off as I go. https://taskade.com has been great for that (though no calendar integration), especially with their Chrome Extension that loads your most recent list on each new tab.
Todoist is replacing Wunderlist for me with their more frequent updates.
I share the same feeling when using Twitter with a following mainly consisting of friends. If the sole purpose was to communicate with friends, why do so publicly on Twitter?
There is a sense that you can connect with influential people on Twitter, but the truth is your voice just gets lost in a sea of noise.
- Notable things that are urgent gets emailed to myself.
- Sites and pages get bookmarked in the browser
- Notes and tasks are added directly into an extension like Notion [0] or Taskade [1] or Pocket [2] and synced to all my devices
