There's a simple metric you are missing: installed base.
There are 4 billion active smartphones, Tim Cook said iPhones are ~900 million
Let's make it a billion for simplicity.
1 - 3 out of 4 smartphones are not Apple's
2 - Apple makes up 50% of the US market for installed base, it's around 220 million devices, 22% of its global installed base, 5% of the global market. Android is the other 50%, 7% of Android global, 5% of the global market. So Apple is 3 times more reliant on US market than Android.
3 - Apple makes 41% of their revenues in USA
International sales accounted for 59 percent of the quarter's revenue.Oct 29, 2020
So more or less we can say that every iPhone sold in USA is worth 3 times an iPhone sold internationally, out of $100 of revenue 1 iPhone in USA is worth $41 one sold internationally is worth 59/4=~$14.5.
That's not in absolute numbers, there are other factors contributing to Apple revenues but it's a good proxy. An iPhone sold in USA generates more revenues overall, being it Apple Store, accessories, laptops, cloud services, music, ...
Android market is harder to analyse being more fragmented, but there are a few key points that can be extracted.
Only 7% of the global Android market is in USA.
Google doesn't make much money from Android, Apple is absolute king of profits here, they are able to extract much more.
Largest Android manufacturers are not in USA and that's a reason why in Asia people are switching to locally manufactured devices that can rival with iPhones in term of perceived usefulness at half the price.
Apple has a minimal penetration in emerging markets, like for example Africa.
We can conclude that what Apple does is still much more relevant in USA and USA is much more relevant for Apple than any other smartphone manufacturer.
Ask yourself this question: what would have happened to the market if the M1 was made by Microsoft or Dell/HP/Lenovo?
How many more companies would have considered it if it could run Windows out of the box.
That's how relevant Apple is in the global market, it's king of profits, it's king of market capitalisation, it makes very good high end devices but as far as the general population is concerned, the M1 won't change much outside of the US.

Why?
Social norms were very different for regular people, imagine being the emperor, especially Nero, whose family history make GOT look like a family camping...
Another example is Elagabalus, who is considered the first example of a transgender emperor in history.
Nero had a very "peculiar" sexual life, but was also, of course, very powerful, which made him an enemy of the Senate that was very conservative about the image of Roman as soldiers.
So it is possible that the stories were true and they used them to dethrone him and later on the propaganda depicted him as a monster.
There were rumors in history, today believed untrue, that he killed his wife Poppea kicking her in the belly, also killing the baby she was caring.
There are rumors of him killing his mother Agrippina (we don't know if it's true or not).
The story says that Nero after losing the wife married his lover Statilia Messalina, but she was too different from Poppea so he started a search throughout the Empire for a woman looking exactly like his dead wife.
He also decided that the sex of the person wasn't important, so when they found Sporo, Nero castrated him and married him in Greece. Story says Sporo was dressed as an empress, but probably he never wanted that life and the castration was forced upon him.
The marriage with Sporo came after the one with Pitagora, when Nero played the role of the wife.
If all of this is propaganda, Svetonio had a great imagination, or, maybe, as the historians think today, most of it is the truth, romanticized, but mostly true.
Pure io e ha un po' rotto le palle che davanti agli americani che si sparano per cazzate noi continuiamo a fare la parte della scimmietta simpatica che strilla per le strade
So the proposed solution is having rules to force people to apologize, forgiveness is just an accessory.
The post specifically said forgivenes is important at a personal level, on a global level rules and their enforcement is what makes coexistence possible.
As Italian, with a grandfather imprisoned by the fascists and the other sent by the fascist regime to die in Russia, I can tell you what fascism is and what is not and I can tell you we never thought it meant "government that hurts people" like nazism is not just "people who wear swastikas", if you use it that way, you are wrong.
My grandmother died few moths ago, she was from 1922 and escaped from the fascists on one side and the Marocchinate (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marocchinate) on the other side, while my grandfather was in jail even if he was ill with tuberculosis, my father house was occupied by fascists and he had to hide from the day he was born until he was five, and when the war ended his father never came back.
I think it's not long past when people that suffered from it are still alive, don't you think?
You're oversimplifying something that's been very hurtful for my country, the history of my continent and for my family.
But let me make a simple example for you: fascism was about separating people in classes, USSR was about eliminating classes.
Fascism was about colonialism and they did unspeakable things in North Africa, justifying their actions with he excuse that "black people are not humans, they are like animals"
USSR never did something similar, because of people's race.
Fascism was about individualism, USSR was about colletivism.
Etc. etc. etc.
Just to exemplify for you what fascism is and what is not: US is more fascist than USSR could ever have been.
And not because I like USSR, but because words have meanings and it's not for you to decide what fascism means when we are the ones who faced it, in our houses, fought it, defeated it, and rebuilt from the ruins and the trail of dead fascism left.
If USSR was arguably fascist, so are the USA then.
Do you think bombing other countries for their oil or to seize control of countries close to the enemy borders (like in Vietnam) looks more democratic or fascist?
USSR has been at war in Afghanistan for 9 years, mainly because USA financed the resistance, creating and arming those mujahideen that years later became "terrorists" simply because they weren't needed anymore...
USA has been at war in Afghanistan for 19 years now (and counting) and the evidence to go to war were falsified.
Fascism is a specific thing, if we broaden the meaning of that word, anything can be called fascist.
I think that "it's not the original since 1550" it's an overstatement
The copy was made at roughly the same time of the original, so it is a great reference for how it should look, but the techniques used for the original Last supper are so different that they are very different in terms of its importance and the difficulties to preserve it and the fact that Leonardo made it explain why the original suffered more damages throughout history (it was simply more famous)
Like the Amphitheatre of El Jem, that was used to film The Galdiator, and the original Colosseum.
We're lucky we have an almost exact copy to look at, that's for sure.
The fact that you didn't doesn't prove you shouldn't
I'm not from US. I don't know the technicalities, in Italy for example you should declare who's residing in your house, even if it's a no paying guest
Many don't, but it's still a requirement
BTW the point was anonymity is not about being anti social, it's about hiding your true identity
If you stay home and never talk to anybody you're being secretive, but probably are not anonymous (police can still come and knock at your door because neighbors called then since you came in and never went out, for example)
downvoted for stating the obvious: US living standards are among the worst in the entire west and sometimes worse than second and third world countries.
But Americans don't want to know or listen the truth.
> 25th percentile means 3/4 of the worlds nations have a lower life expectancy
LOL
what did you miss from despite having the highest spending per capita?
US has the lowest life expectancy in the entire west.
And it's going down, not up.
It's 46th in that ranking, my country, Italy, is 6th.
USA is even below Lebanon and Estonia.
Lebanon has been at war for the past 40 years and has been bombed several times.
Do you think US citizen know that int their country life expectancy is worse than a country which is literally in ruins?
> I suspect you will find yourself consistently down voted and flagged when you speak like this.\
Do you really believe I care about the downvotes ?
You should care about living in a country where some living standards are lower than many third world countries,
- Infant mortality (deaths/1,000 live births)
USA is 46th, worse than Latvia, Lithuania, Cuba, Belarus, Estonia, Antigua and Barbuda
- Under-five mortality rate per 1000 live births.
USA is 44th, again after countries they consider thirld World, including ex USSR (Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia) and Cuba
BTW, when you talk about other countries fascism, true or not, you should remember that in my country there are US military bases, not Chinese.
The Itavia Flight 870 was shot down in 1980 by NATO fighter jets fighting Libyan jets in civil air space, killing 81 people
It wasn't the Chinese
In the 80s CIA was involved with far right terrorism that killed many innocent people, they were scared that Italy was going "too leftist"
The father of a friend of mine was killed on the 2nd of August of 1980, he was waiting at the train station in Bologna.
We were both kids.
Wikileaks revealed the "Kissinger Cables", documents that Henry Kissinger sent to express the intolerance of the US administration for the Italian justice system that was "being too hard" on the neofascists groups.
If you look at the English Wikipedia page for "strategy of tension" and then at this https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategia_della_tensione_in_It... you will see there's a great difference in the story told and the amount of documentation presented. In particular any document that calls out the US, including all the evidence found in over 40 years of investigation by the Italian authorities, is not mentioned.
Can you guess why?
The Strage del Cermis (Cavalese cable disaster for you non Italian speakers) was caused by an US air pilot, 20 (TWENTY) people died.
But very few countries have homicide rates worse than US and lower life expectancy, despite having the highest spending per capita in health care in the World
So maybe before criticizing, fix your own problems.
