(1) Visual Studio Code - I work with it on Debian & Ubuntu versions from 16.04 to 20.04, also works well with WSL/Ubuntu on Windows;

(2) + C/C++ extension for VSCode from Microsoft (installed separately);

(3) + sudo apt-get install clang-format.

  You may want to adjust some settings e.g. set C_Cpp.default.cppStandard to C++17.

And I used aforementioned (gaming) laptop with GPU mostly for Deep Learning

  GPUs could consume a lot of power.

Source: I used a Windows 10 laptop (not Thinkpad) with Nvidia GPU and it usually lasted less than two hours on battery. I work on another laptop, Thinkpad without Nvidia or AMD GPU, it lasts 6-8 hours on battery.

This is a huge leap forward for SpaceX to make it into space again. SpaceX will still have a large stake in the rocket, but that's a huge leap forward for the whole industry. I wish SpaceX would just stop [... redacted ...] be more aggressive and look at their competitors.

If you are not against some help from technology, then there are software/apps that block internet access for social media web-sites etc e.g. freedom.to

You could also try browser extensions, e.g. for Firefox: Mind the Time -- shows stats of internet usage; LeechBlock NG -- blocks sites.
