The very notion of IQ reduces the mind to a receptacle for some ineffable thing called 'intelligence'. One may as well have a CQ - Comedy Quotient and start speculating who has a higher GQ - Robin Williams or Dave Chapelle.
As a network engineer I regularly participate and mediate 'vendor support shootouts' between vendors like cisco, juniper, arista, verizon, at&t, and, microsoft - all often amongst each other. It is at times maddeningly frustrating.
Microsoft by far and away is the least responsive in nearly all cases. In one case the project involved thousands of SQL servers and MS was 100% unresponsive - moreover this was not a small customer, but one of microsoft's largest corporate customers. Still nothing but silence. So out with MS for that project. The yearly license fees were well into six figures. Even though MS has a track record of unresponsiveness, the silence was surprising and noteworthy. Why bet money on a horse that doesn't show up.
I have to wonder what edge AI would look like on a laptop. Little super mini Nvidia Jetson? How much added cost? How much more weight for the second and third batteries? And the fourth and fifth batteries to be able to unplug for more than a few minutes?
Solar at least is a much faster way to add capacity to the grid than coal or natural gas, particularly residential rooftop solar. In a competition with China for AI predominance, trump shot the USA in the foot by deep sixing renewal incentives.
When I was on the team migrating datacenters, we got ahold of tcpdump.exe which didn't need winpcap presumably because it was staticly compiled under cygwin - I'm fairly certain someone didn't write the entire thing including winpcap from scratch.
It was nice because getting anything approved by the windows sysadmin group was like changing the tire on a moving truck.
It was more than a godsend, because when a windows server was plugging into "the wrong vlan" we could just give them the tcpdump command to capture a CDP/LLDP packet and tell us which switch and port the box was physically connected to.
As a network engineer I once had a project involving an infrastructure for a deployment of thousands (so I was told) of SQLServers. My part was pretty straightforward and ready well ahead of schedule, but the DB team got stuck because the SQLServer build process kept getting hung. The only response ever heard from microsoft was "It's a network problem"
So I dug into packet captures and found that the switches were using all-zeros gratuitous arps to populate the forwarding table more quickly, which is a fairly common practice. The SQL servers saw this as in indication of a duplicate IP address (the garps were for 0.0.0.0).
Technically this did trigger the duplicate IP address detection RFC, but was never a problem for other server builds or any other server operational capacities. Cisco was the other vendor involved and came out with an update to allow for a timing delay for the all-zeros GARP. However given the timeline runway and the need to do a bug scrub for just one access area in a large data center with other much more lucrative capacity builds the only fiscally responsible thing was to look to the vendor at the heart of the problem.
However it was not possible to get any response from microsoft on it in spite of having the most expensive support contract they offered. The monthly late fees for the project were in the 8 figure range, so microsoft was dumped since they were not answering the phone. It was not for a lack of trying either. Our so-called "high touch" liaisons were equally frustrated.
It was weird since we were not a small customer - we were one of their largest. If a fortune 10 can't get microsoft to answer the phone, what hope does anyone else have?
I worked in academia for years before moving to the commercial sector, and in academia management seemed to run on the "in the real world" mantra. Yet if the managers in academia did half of what I saw them do in the commercial sector, they'd get walked out in minutes.

Which is it - small or important? All that seems like a bit much.
I think it's possible they may. I used to get 50 - 150 of those "I hacked the camera on your computers and videoed you wacking. Pay me bitcoins and I won't release it to all your friends". Many come from .kz, .cn, .in, and various others. I'd notify those ISP NOCs that their networks are being used of obvious criminal activity and criminals love to break into servers and networks. I also put in bitcoin abuse reports using the IP addresses that sourced the emails.
Google addresses started show up about 4 - 6 months ago; their IPv6 addresses. So I prominently mentioned in those bitcoin abuse reports that google should make any effort at all to secure their servers and notified their NOC/security email addresses. I also mentioned their addresses would appear in those public bitcoin abuse reports.
After a couple of months the google addresses stopped appearing as sources.
