I don't really mind if "big water" is a thing, but I'd like to see better packaging for it. It's amazing how many people regularly drink bottled water instead of tap water.
I had to open a Comcast account after a roommate moved out. His checkout/my opening was very straightforward until the modem that worked for his account didn't work for mine. The "new system" that our account was directed through didn't accept the exact model for our modem, forcing us to get another one. And there is no way I would use their modem/router setup.
The worst recruiter I dealt with sent an email like this to 4 of my email addresses and tried to add me as a connection on LinkedIn twice (she had 2 profiles). All within 1 minute.
I have my interns setup Vim on their first day, and it's usually their editor of choice by the end of the summer. Apparently it gives them mad credit among their peers at school too.
I am a big fan of Trello for their simple column view. I've found it to be the most efficient way to understand the state of any of my projects with just a glance.
I've wanted to like Asana for a while, but I always get annoyed by the inability to visualize the lists. Seems like the status quo is unchanged.
We run a technical meetup at OpenDNS called OpenLate and I might be able to add some thoughts on to your post. We are a very attendee-focused event, but as an organizer, we have actually achieved an incredible value from it. The value for us includes a handful of technical hires, recognition in thought leadership, and actually some sales deals too. All of these are side effects of the community that we have created, who come for our series of various technical talks. We don't recruit and we don't push the OpenDNS brand but, by creating quality events with interesting topics, people continue to attend and learn more about us too.
Wow I'm very disappointed. I keep making the effort to transition more to 3, but am frustrated to see so many dependencies only work with 2.7, and thus maintain both libraries. I am tired of this limbo.
