Was WhatsApp really that successful? I can't imagine it caught on with many young adults or older who have no trouble paying for SMS given the convenience. Is their demographic comprised of kids?
Agree and disagree. The touch screen is the most important aspect of a touchscreen device. Observable lag affects the user experience when they're moving faster than the device will allow.
It is a big deal but I don't think the majority of users are bothered because they see it as an inherent trait of a computer to lag.
I know you said you don't trust digital storage, but discs remain the best way to backup files for me. I purchased a blu-ray burner a couple years back and I've hardly made it through my first stack of discs. The blu-ray discs should easily outlast any other storage medium if they're kept in proper conditions. It comes down to your ability to keep track of them, not whether they'll go bad on you.
I tried to get tickets to the show in Mountain View, completely sold out almost immediately save for a few "accessible" seats. I considered showing up with crutches or a wheelchair.

I could say you're part of the greater fool theory anytime you get paid in or sell something for fiat money. It only has value as long as people are willing to accept it, same thing applies to Bitcoin.
But Bitcoin is also an incredibly small market and as such it's susceptible to manipulation from already wealthy individuals like the Winklevii. Unfortunately for them bitcoin are worthless without circulation (i.e. people willing to accept them).
Bitcoin gained a lot of traction and new blood this year, most of these newcomers are standing around wondering where things will go without thinking about why they invested in the first place. People also don't seem to understand it's still in testing despite the high value.
This is great, I've been wanting to get into aviation for some time but the barrier of entry is steep.
Using their plans as a guideline for building an ultralight instead of a light sport aircraft would reduce the cost dramatically. Ultralights have much lower limits but don't require any formal training/licenses.
In the end you could probably build an ultralight for the cost of a pilots license.
I've never been a fan of JS and this is why I have it disabled by default in Chromium. Just whitelist the domains you make use of and the rest of the internet is smooth sailing.
Efficient use of tablets could make them an invaluable educational tool but something tells me they wouldn't bother going through the tedious process of acquiring digital versions of textbooks, assignments, reports, etc.
