The local first approach is the primary reason I use Obsidian. I trust that I can _depend_ on Obsidian because of this.
On the other hand, this has also caused some headaches around using it on mobile.. but so far this has been a worthwhile tradeoff. Thanks for all the hard work!
Same! And that's why I'm now a DevOps engineer. In my role, DevOps primarily means automation and pipeline creation, working with teams to build and release their apps reliably and effectively. For me, it really scratches the itch of "setting things up".
I am beyond astounded. I was able to run a Docker image, utilize the fs inside of the container, and exit the container. Docker system commands work as expected (`docker ps` shows no containers, `docker ps -a` shows the exited container)
A few little things are weird (I can exec into a stopped container for example) but I was able to start another container and persist files.

PyPI identifies a package as critical and asks the maintainer to enable 2FA.. but allows them to simply delete the package to get around this requirement?

Not sure of the best implementation, but couldn't it be behind a permissions dialog like the ones users have to accept for webcam access or notifications?

I'm glad to hear that. I didn't have the best flight and was really happy to be home.. so it definitely stuck with me when that happened.

On a trip back from Spain, flying in to Dulles, the agent immediately took my picture, even though I specifically said I did not want to. The agent said I had no choice, even though I knew this was false.
I was then escorted to a supervisor who questioned me for ~20-30 minutes. He said that if I had nothing to hide, I shouldn't need to worry.
I argued for as long as I could, but I had a connecting flight and needed to leave.. so I just gave up.
