I'm in the same boat - I'm trying to work on a startup but I need advice and motivation from peers who I can talk to in an environment which isn't impersonal.
I have to agree that an IRC channel would be awesome (#startups simply doesn't work for me).
I've jumped into the "Solo Startup Doers" event you created.
I actually faced a similar problem and I ended up writing an almost identical script which generated a JSON or XML file (depending on the user's need).
To combat people promoting their own tutorials and stuff, just have them include a short snippet as to what that resource concerns that others don't - what makes that resource worth visiting/reading?
Hmmm. I don't know if its just me, but if I go to the Legal or About pages (though the links in the footer) while logged in, I get taken to the Welcome page.
Otherwise, pretty nice.
Will you be implementing a "Theme Library" (think Tumblr) where designers can share themes if it takes off?
I can't see a future for plugins if you want to keep it the "cleanest blogging platform."
Edit:
I just saw your comment where you said that you're not the developer - I guess you can't fix those bugs and address those questions...
