One thing I found annoying about the MBP mini LED screen is that macOS will not make the menu bar truly black, no matter how hard I've tried.
Even using a #000000 picture as background, with 'Digital Color Meter' claiming that the screen is showing 000 everywhere, in dark environments it's obvious that the menu bar is a different color from the rest of the background.
Totally agree regarding the UK, I was mostly trying to understand where the belief in the "lockstep decline" of the other countries (Germany, France, ...) comes from.

Switzerland punishes many non-violent offenders with a jail sentence already. It seems to me like Swiss jail is meant for what the Swiss people decide it’s for.
If you overprovision the electricity production you can get away with less battery capacity. It’s a tradeoff and the cost-optimal point is not going to be the one where the production is exactly equal to the demand.
You can incentivize the creation of certain types of businesses that aid in the economic development of the country though. Many countries, especially in Asia, have "decided" to become successful producers of industrial goods. For example, the automotive and electronics industry in South Korea were heavily supported by national policy, after the government decided that these areas were critical for the development of the country [0]. This actually worked incredibly well - many companies are still around today (e.g. Hyundai, Samsung, LG).
I agree with your points re. Myers-Briggs, however modern IQ tests are generally regarded as pretty reproducible and an individual’s score remains quite stable over long periods of time. Confidence intervals are about 10 points for decent tests. [1]
They are not perfect of course, but it’s a little unfair to compare MB with IQ tests in this manner.
I know you caveated your comment by saying that not all IQ Tests are like this, which is certainly true. However, I see no statistical reason not to tell people the result of a high-quality IQ test.
