Well, to be honest i ended up agreeing atleast partly too.
For context im from europe, and a small country arrayed against a historically and currently aggressive and strong neighbor, aaand i was conscript officer in charge of a few hundred men total.
Believe me that im not that detached from this question, however my concience about bombing civilians is also quite conflicted but heavily leaning towards the Geneva Conventions.
In conclusion; no, i dont agree that it was be "perfectly ethical" or even simply ethical, but rather a neccesity born of the lack of efficacy in the firebombing campaing. And yes, a top-down hierarchical militant society like imperial japan of the time would not have surrendered without significant show of power, of imminent destruction, demonstrated.
Im personally more convinced that Hirohito only issued the decree to surrender unconditionally due to the fear of imminent destruction of the capital, since a military society would always expect an attack on the command structure.

User or component safety? I think in general electronics do not require much in the way of user safety (Ofcourse I exclude power electronics and other high-energy systems) beyond how to properly use measurement devices.

Im a undergrad electronics student so basically a world apart, in terms of skill and department, but this is one of the reasons i do not wish to pursue academia and instead focus on intresting jobs

In humans, that could take a lifetime, maybe two.
Other animals must also be studied, but doing that can be much more difficult and resource intensive. Here thinking about marine life primarily.
Point being, everything thus far learned points to harm in the long term. Long term studies have only begun in the last 10-20years I believe, and could be that we will be waiting for further still

You also seem to forget that then leader marshall mannerheim refused to advance on key cities in the north, such as st. petersburg and petroskoi even though hitler was quite insistent.
There is something you seem to forget, that lost Japanese lives counted for anything in American eyes. 4 years of war, reports of war crimes and propaganda effectively demonized them and thus their value as humans deteriorated to wholly expendable in American war plans. The reason there was no invasion, was to save American lives as much as possible.
I would recommend reading into the firebombing campaing against the Japanese civilian population.

Regarding the water heater. Actually the more you heat something the more it also cools down. Unless you have beyond excellent insulation the coasting method will not do good for long.
The heater will release more heat the more it possesses and so it would be best to instead increase thermal mass than temparature.
