I regret not having invested in index funds at that age. I'm very happy I backpacked the earth for 1.5 years as soon as I could afford it. When looking for a job: do the things you enjoy most, aim high and go for it. Do not try to find your calling: try different things and your calling will find you.
This works great from a leadership perspective as well. If anyone is interested, I can recommend the book Turn the Ship Around! by David Marquet about this very subject.

I don't think so. We would measure the effect of 33 Polyhymnia on the probe, not the other way around. Which would work if it got just in the vicinity of the asteroid. The mass of the probe wouldn't even matter.
You're right of course about the density being a wild guess, probably not worth pursuing because the odds of finding something interesting are just about 0.
If the same receptor can distinguish between 2 distinct tastes I would consider it a different basic taste. In my experience ammonium chloride does not taste sourat all, so this might be the case. The article does not mention that though.

I'm 50 and I start to struggle. Not because I can't keep up with the tech but because I refuse to. No smart tv or doorbell, a 2004 unconnected car, physical light switches etc. I spend too much time figuring out what printer will not DRM me into buying branded ink. I wonder how much longer I can keep up with this, because everything is becoming smart and "as a service". It seems the perfect products for me are the products from 15 years ago that I can hardly buy any more.

Doesn't this influence their usefulness as standard candles for measuring long distances? Or is luminosity of the supernova not affected by this?
