I have ADD and typically eschew watching video if I can get the same, quality content faster in text.
I loved this and watched it to the end.
To any that feel the need to hide or disparage this because it seems to promote doing things on your own vs in the cloud, this isn’t some tech ops Total Money Makeover where you read a book and you’re suddenly in some sort of anti-credit cult. This is hard shit, and it’s the basics of the hard shit that I grew up with as being the only shit.
Yes, you can serve your own data. No one should fault you for doing that if you want. It takes the humble intelligence of the core team and everyone at IA to pull that off at this scale. If you don’t want to do the hard things, you could use the cloud. There are financial reasons also for one or the other, just as there are reasons people live with their family, rent, lease, and buy homes and office space- an imperfect analogy of course.
I hope that some of the others that could go on to work at the big guys or have been working there and want a challenge consider applying to IA when there’s an opening. They’ve done an incredible job, and I look forward to the cool things they accomplish in the future.
What is the strangest thing you’ve ever seen in a chip? (e.g. has anything ever hinted at either a lucky accident that relied on physical laws that weren’t understood or tech that seemed too advanced to
have been developed by the team that developed it?)
Also- the strange parts of the chip spell DDB, which may be relevant, as the V DDB is mentioned in one of the MAU design patents. Or DDB possibly could be the initials of the team or designers. It could have also served a practical purpose.
While the chip/circuit design itself matters, it’s good to note that NASA will run several pieces of the same/similar hardware for fault tolerance in a component[1] as well as attempting to protect it. This isn’t bad, but I also think that design of the chips and circuits should come into play if it’s proven in testing to be affected by radiation, e.g. don’t use an RPi2 in a Xenon Flash testing lab.
Incognito mode isn’t privacy. It just keeps cookies and cache cleared initially for that incognito session. That’s like Firefox, etc.
The EU and California notion that disabling cookies stops companies from tracking you is also false. Everything between you and the site can track you, and the site could track you without cookies.
Even hiding your IP via using a VPN doesn’t protect privacy as much as you’d think, somewhat depending on the VPN provider and those interested.
Tor? Not always private. If you don’t believe me, search for it and show me how to prove that it is or could be fully. And it makes you a target; why do you need that privacy, they ask?
That’s what I’ve heard. They may lead you on to keep you on the hook in case they need you without even getting work from you. This isn’t really a scam; it’s just about them wasting your time. And there are so many suckers that they can be picky about who they do this to.
If you really want to freelance or have a startup, you have to be able to differentiate these people from legit opportunities. That can be extremely difficult; someone that seems like a scammer could be ready to pay a great rate or invest in your company; someone else that sounds legit could be wasting your time.
Seems a bit like the way an old pirate might speak, or at least someone hundreds of years old.
