My answer (for others): If I would just respond "no" it would sounds like I'm being a smart ass. It doesn't take much time to try it and THEN reply.
I'd say no, and let them know when/if I planned to.
I suppose there could be some polling issues because of my phrasing, but the basic idea is there.
It really comes to your work culture.
Do you think he's about to research the app and is just checking to see if someone already looked into it?
